Garmin Releases New 12.1-inch TXi Display Which Is Largest Yet

Garmin is pleased to announce the launch of a new 12.1-inch display size for the TXi family of flight displays for piston, turboprop and jet aircraft. The new display joins the existing 10.6-inch, 7-inch portrait and 7-inch landscape flight displays for the G500 TXi and G600 TXi systems. The new display size adds to the versatile lineup of TXi upgrade possibilities, providing advanced PFD/MFD/EIS capabilities and a full Garmin retrofit path for hundreds of aircraft models. The 12.1-inch touchscreen features 33 percent more active display area, while a thin bezel design keeps the overall unit width the same as the 10.6-inch model. The new display matches the design of the TXi and GTN™Xi navigator families and is available in black and gray, enabling customers to design a comprehensive panel with a unified look.

Larger indicators and touch points provide pilots with better readability and easier touchscreen interaction. In addition, the larger display provides more visible vertical map distance at an equivalent zoom range and increases HSI map size and chart displays without compromising screen layout.

A 12.1" display can be set up as a PFD, MFD or PFD/MFD function, with an optional Engine Indication System (EIS) bar. Like the rest of the TXi family, the 12.1" TXi flight display features a bright, sunlight-readable, high-resolution LCD touchscreen display. A powerful dual-core processor enhances the system's graphics capabilities with fast zooming, panning and map rendering. Pilots can easily access display functions via touchscreen inputs or the familiar concentric knob.

TXi flight displays allow aircraft owners and operators to replace maintenance-intensive mechanical gyroscopes with reliable solid-state attitude and heading reference system sensors. These digital systems reduce lifecycle costs and improve reliability while reducing weight. With integrated TXi engine monitoring, pilots can more easily view and analyze critical engine, fuel and electrical parameters to help maintain the aircraft's optimal, most efficient performance. Extensive integration capabilities with Garmin systems and select third-party systems enable TXi flight displays to provide a simplified, feature-rich upgrade program.

The 12.1" TXi flight display is available to order now, with shipments expected to begin in Q3 2025. The integrated AHRS model is not available for the 12.1" TXi, and installations must use a remote AHRS and ADC sensor. Installations also require a GI 275 attitude indicator as a backup instrument. The 12.1" TXi flight display requires a minimum software version of v3.80. A release kit containing high-resolution images, product copy, etc. is available upon request.
