VIAVI couplers solve the problem of reliable testing of FAR, Part 43, Annex “F” ERP (Effective Radiated Power) and transponder MTL (Minimum Trigger Level) in multipath environments. They provide attenuation greater than 20 dB to minimize dummy targets for ATC, TCAS, or ADS-B in equipped aircraft. Our couplers are securely mounted directly on the aircraft transponder antenna, allowing for shielded testing of the entire system while connecting to any VIAVI transponder or TCAS test equipment: AVX-10K, IFR6000/6015, APM-424, ATC-5000NG, or IFF-45TS.

03:ATC-5000NG
ATC/DME testing equipment and ADS-B target generator
The VIAVI ATC-5000NG is an RF signal generator/receiver for testing Mode 3/A, C, and S transponders. Designed using modern software-defined radio technology, the ATC-5000NG is a replacement for the commercially available SDX-2000, ATC-1400A, and S-1403DL transponders. Capable of performing most MOPS tests for DO-181E, DO-260, DO-260A, DO-260B, and DO-282B, the ATC-5000NG is an ideal test device for engineering development, certification, manufacturing, and service.
The ATC-5000NG tests the following:
