The Cessna 172 will feature dual electronic ignition systems (dual EIS), which will further improve the maintenance, efficiency and overall operation of this single-engine, high-wing piston aircraft. Dual Lycoming electronic ignition systems will become standard on all new production Cessna 172 aircraft!
The dual electronic ignition system will replace the 172's previous dual magneto ignition system, combining advanced electronics to reduce the number of internal moving parts to optimize operation.
